Shirley Boys’ High School is currently recruiting homestay families for International Students arriving at the beginning of next year (2024).
We are looking for hosts for:
Short Term
- Korean group arriving on Feb 14th and departing on Feb 26th. Double placement possible.
- Thai group arriving Mar 11 and departing Apr 5 (they will away in Queenstown over Easter break)
Term 1 placements, approx 8-10 weeks
- Japanese, Single Placement, All 15 students are Japanese
One year placements
- Combination of Japanese, Thai and Korean students. Single placement.
Some may continue into 2025. First host is not committed to continue to host the following year.
We are looking for caring host families who are prepared to care for and parent the students as they would like their own children to be cared for.
Homestay payment is $300 per week per student. This would include 3 meals a day, unlimited wifi and laundry. Longer term students must have their own room with a desk for study.
