Pasifika at Shirley Boys' High School

Fakaalofa lahi atu, Malo e lelei, Bula vinaka, Halo olaketa, Taloha ni, Mauri, Namaste, Kia orana, Ia orana, Kia ora!

Talofa, Talofa, Talofa lava.

Pasifika Heritage

At Shirley Boys’ High School we strive to provide an educational environment for young men of Pasifika heritage, which is integrated into the core philosophies of Shirley Boys’ High School.

As our school continues to create a safe environment that allows Pasifika students to be Pasifika, it is vital that we improve our practices to suit their diverse backgrounds.

We have three goals with regards to Pasifika learners at Shirley Boys’ High School

  1. Increase the academic achievement of Pasifika learners by supporting both staff, in their teaching practice, and students, in their learning.
  2. Advance meaningful connections between the school and Pasifika families and communities.
  3. Improve the social engagement of Pasifika learners, both in and beyond the school, for example, through leadership and citizenship.
