Year 9 Day

Nau mai, haere mai to our Year 9 students and new members of our kura who joined us for a special first day at Shirley Boys’ High School, Ngā Tama o Ōruapaeroa.

The morning began with a heartfelt Mihi Whakatau, where we welcomed new kaiako, ākonga and whānau into our school community. It was a meaningful opportunity to come together, share in manaakitanga and begin building strong connections and a sense of belonging.

In the afternoon, our Year 9 students learned our school haka together, stepping up and supporting one another, before bringing great energy to the House Pyramid competition, where house spirit was already shining through.

A memorable first day and a wonderful start to the journey ahead.
