Shirley Boys’ High School is proud to be hosting the 5 Schools Exchange in Christchurch from Monday 20 April to Friday 1 May 2026 (Weeks 1 & 2 of Term 2).
This exciting cultural exchange will welcome students from Japan, China, and Australia, giving our boys the chance to build international friendships and share what makes Aotearoa unique. While it’s preferable that participants also host a visiting student, this is not compulsory.
The theme for 2026 is: “Our Digital Footprint: Youth, AI, and the Future of Connection.” Students will explore this global issue through activities, discussions, and cultural presentations, including preparing their own activity that showcases New Zealand culture.
Preference will be given to Year 12 students who take part in the Christchurch exchange for the opportunity to travel to Japan in 2027. Students will also need their own spending money for an overnight trip (details TBC).
