Matariki Celebration Hangi – Friday 17th June
The whole school will share hāngī together to celebrate the true meaning of Matariki. The main kaupapa is to reflect, celebrate and plan for the future, and sharing kai as a kura is a way of coming together to recognise those that have passed over the last year, and to support one another in creating a strong foundation for the years to come.
Everyone has the opportunity to contribute to this kaupapa through a koha of vegetables. If you are able to koha it would be awesome to use this guide to help you:
Blake House – Potatoes
Snell House – Kumara
Aoraki House – Carrots
Mullins House –
- HSm CJm DGm FMm – Onions
- JBm JRm KRm KSm – loaves of bread,
- LDm LMm MMm MCm – Potatoes
- PUm RMm SJm YJm – kumara
The koha can be brought to school and gifted during Period 1 Wednesday 15th June.
We are looking forward to celebrating Matariki together for the first time as a kura.
