ECO Competition – Shirley vs Avonside!
Year 10 student James Dufty is collaborating with Aurora Garner-Randolph from Avonside to organise an ECO COMPETITION between our two schools. Monday 25th November – Thursday 5th December.
The competition aims to introduce eco-friendly habits to the students of Avonside and Shirley. Some ideas could include;
- Picking up litter
- Walking, cycling or carpooling to school
- Bringing a ‘nude’ lunch
- Swap out a lightbulb at home to an LED one
- Plant some veges or start a worm farm
- Start meatless Monday’s or go vegetarian for a week
The winning school, and the form with the highest points, will be announced on Friday the 6th.
Each form teacher has a sheet with a list of all the challenges students can do to gain points.
In order to gain points for their form and school, students must present the evidence of the challenge
being completed (a photo) to their form teacher during form time, and the teacher will log in the amount of points
that that particular challenge earns.
Thank you for your support of James Dufty and Aurora Garner-Randolph – young people showing great initiative!
