Community Open Day
On Sunday 19th May, Shirley Boys’ High School had a community day to allow people an opportunity to look through the new school.
The doors were opened at 10am and there were already 100 people waiting outside. The morning was busy with a range of people coming to view the school.
Many were members of the local community who had watched the school being built over the last two years and wanted to see what it looked like inside. Others were potential students and their families who wanted to look through and get an idea of what the school looked like.
There were a large number of Old Boys’, so it was good to see them and outline to them how the school worked and the differences between the new site and the former site.
Over 1000 people came through during the morning, and the feedback from those who visited was incredibly positive and it was wonderful to see such interest in Shirley Boys’ High School.
This was further confirmed at our Open Night for prospective students in 2020 on Thursday 23rd May when we had a crowd of 900 people.
